Coaching Career

Carl is the founder and director of coaching for the Dallas Mustangs Soccer Club/Mustangs Futbol Club-Mustangs FC. He currently holds a USSF "D" license. Coaches 96,99,00 girls. Coaches academy teams 02, and 04 girls.

2011- Mustangs FC 99 Team-State Cup Runners Up

2005-2010- Coaches two teams in Divison 1 Lake Highland Girls Classic League. Coaching three teams playing in LHGCL.

2004-Formed Mustangs Futbol Club. Started Mustangs FC with 3 teams and now has over 18 teams locally in Dallas and 23 teams with the DFW metroplex.

2001-2005 Played professional for FC Dallas and Songhnam FC in Soul South Korea.

2001… A Herman Trophy candidate, he captained the top-ranked Mustangs to a 21-1 record … Helped SMU to the NCAA Quarterfinals where they suffered a 1-0 loss to St. Johns … Led SMU to the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Regular Season and Tournament Championships …

2000… A first team NSCAA first-team All-America he helped led the Mustangs to the Final Four College Cup Semifinals … Was also a NSCAA All-Midwest Region first team selection ... Named MVC Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-MVC ... Played in 23 games, including 22 starts ... Fifth on the squad in scoring with nine goals and three assists ... Was a finalist for the Hermann Trophy and Missouri Athletic Club College Player of the Year award ...

1999 … First team All-American … Also named first team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) ... Second on the team with 31 points ... Led team with seven assists ... Scored 12 goals on the year while starting all 20 games … Had three multi-goal games on the year ... Scored a team high five game winning goals …

1998 … A first team All-WAC selection ... Started every game for the Mustangs as a freshman … 1997 …


Prep Highlights

Member of the U.S. U17 National Team.

1998 Golden boot award winner. Voted best player at National Finals. Team finished 3rd in Country. Led his team with 4 goals at National Finals

1997. Led Plano East High Schools in goals in one season scored 27 goals his senior year.

1997 Led the state of Texas at running back for Plano East Senior High School. Rushed for 10.4 yards per carry. Had full ride scholarships in Football, Soccer and Track.

1997 Went to State in track for long jump. Still holds Plano East Senior High School in Long Jump record at '25 feet.

1996 Led Plano East Senior High in interceptions with 7 as a Junior.

1995 U17 World Cup. Played every minute in the under-17 World Cup  and under-19  level … Also lettered in football and track ... Held the school's long jump record "25 and football rushing record.
